Rotterdam 📍 | Young & ambitious team
Vacancies
Full Stack Developer
At 30MHz, we help growers make smarter decisions and you’ll be building the platform that makes it possible. As a full stack developer, you’ll own features end-to-end: from APIs and data pipelines to polished Angular frontends, all running on AWS. A small, ambitious team with a clear mission.
Your role
You’ll work across our full stack: building and evolving services in Java and Python, crafting rich Angular frontends in TypeScript, and shipping reliable infrastructure on AWS. You collaborate closely with Product, Data/AI, and Commercial to turn customer problems into clean, scalable software. Expect ownership, fast feedback, and real impact on how food is grown.
What you’ll do
- Ship end-to-end features: from API and schema design to polished UI and rollout.
- Build and evolve REST APIs, data pipelines, and integrations — primarily in Java (Spring Boot), with Python for data and scripting.
- Create clean, modular Angular components and micro-frontends in TypeScript.
- Engineer for reliability: testing, observability, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and secure-by-default patterns.
- Improve performance and cost efficiency across services and queries.
- Collaborate in agile rituals, turning customer insights into backlog items with clear acceptance criteria.
- Participate in code reviews and share knowledge across the team.
Our tech stack
(what matters is strong engineering, not checking every box)
- Backend: Java (Spring Boot), Python (FastAPI/Flask), SQL/NoSQL, messaging/streaming.
- Frontend: Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, state management, testing (Vitest/Jasmine).
- Cloud & DevEx: AWS (ECS/Lambda/S3/RDS), Terraform/CDK, Docker, GitHub Actions, OpenAPI, Grafana/Prometheus.
You are
- A strong engineer first: you write clean, testable code and think carefully about architecture — the specific frameworks you’ve used matter less than how you think.
- 2-4 years of experience building production web applications.
- Solid CS fundamentals: data modeling, concurrency, distributed systems basics.
- A pragmatic problem-solver: you ship, measure, iterate.
- Comfortable owning features across frontend and backend; you enjoy pair programming and code reviews.
- Collaborative and product-minded; you translate user needs into simple solutions.
- Fluent in Dutch (required) and English.
Nice to have
- Experience with time-series data, IoT/sensors, or data-driven products.
- GraphQL, gRPC, or event-driven architectures.
- Security hardening in cloud environments (IAM, secrets, networking).
What we offer
- A high-impact role building the core of a real-world, data-driven platform in horticulture.
- Ambitious, collaborative team with a clear product mission.
- Hybrid working from our central Rotterdam office on Mondays and Thursdays, remote the rest of the week. Fridays in-office at sprint end.
- Pension plan, NS business card for travel, and a laptop (or bring your own device).
- Daily healthy lunch and inspiring quarterly team days.

Learn more
30MHz was founded in 2014 by four engineers. They built a big data platform and wireless sensors to provide smart office, smart industry and smart farming solutions. But it soon became clear that the most impact could be made in horticulture. There is so much untapped potential and room for growth when it comes to digital technology in horticulture. More importantly: we need solutions for sustainable agriculture and food production, and we need them quickly.
That is why, since 2017, the sole focus is on the horticultural sector. We have developed and customised our data platform and wireless infrastructure technologies in close collaboration with leading growers and horticultural research organisations, including Wageningen University, Beekenkamp and Vertify. Today, 30MHz has over 250+ customers across 30 countries in 6 continents and 2500+ platform users, including growers, consultants and researchers.
Team & culture
At 30MHz we work with about 15 highly skilled colleagues. The main incentive for the work we do is to create an impact in the horticulture sector. We all feel responsible for the product and keep improving it as a team. Besides that, we all like to work in a team where you can learn, have great responsibility and have a laugh.
You & 30MHz
As a driven talent, you end up in fertile ground. All the conditions are there for seeds you plant to germinate. Within the dynamic structure of moving from a start-up to a scale-up, you will have every opportunity to grow quickly.
