Chatting with colleague Sharon

From the 30MHz office in Amsterdam to Rotterdam. What are the most asked support questions and the best tips from colleague Sharon?

Who are you & what is your role?

I’m Sharon, originally from Nijverdal, but I’ve been living in Amsterdam for 8 years. I studied Communication Science, but I’m heading in a completely different direction, currently studying software engineering. I have 6+ years of experience in customer support for companies in various sectors. Now for more than a year at 30MHz. In addition, I like to contribute to product improvements from the client’s point of view. It would be great to use my coding knowledge & customer experience to develop our products.

What are the most asked support questions?

How can I share specific crop data without giving access to all my information? – Within the platform, you have the option to create groups. You can choose which sensors to add to each group, and only that sensor data will be shared with the individuals you invite to that group. This way, you can share crop information with multiple people without them having access to all of your data.

My sensor is showing an error, what can I do? – Check the error message in the platform, as it will provide insight into the issue. Make sure the sensors and Connect are properly connected. Try placing the sensor as close as possible to the Gateway and check the voltage to see if the battery is empty. Charging the sensor near the Gateway is the quickest way to see if data is being received again. If you are unable to resolve the issue, contact support!

Can I place my sensor anywhere in the greenhouse? – Yes, the sensors are wireless and easy to move within the greenhouse. The only thing to consider is that the sensor must be within range of the network, which is used to transmit data to the platform. The network can be expanded with repeaters, which amplify and extend your network.

Where are the biggest opportunities for growers?

Using data to achieve higher quality growth, where data-driven cultivation leads to an optimal product.

Dreaming away: how do you see the future of cultivation?

A combination of data, human knowledge, and automated processes to achieve the best and most sustainable food production. In my dream world, this can be done locally so that food no longer has to travel all over the world.

What are your 3 golden tips for growers?

  • Use your data, don’t just read it, but also apply it.
  • Contact us with questions, we know a lot and can help well. There are no stupid questions.
  • Don’t be afraid of changes in your work process to improve cultivation.

Last but not least, Rotterdam or Amsterdam? 😉

I’m still sticking with Amsterdam, but who knows, maybe I’ll think differently in a while. 😉
